Pano 74 Featured Image

Download an HDRI pano single for free. This image was captured with about 21 stops of latitude.

I picked up a little consumer 360° Camera to try and capture more panos on the go. It seems to do a decent job. I think even with my ancient DSLR my pano rig will pull off a better capture but with this little camera I can get in, shoot and out so quick.

I haven’t really tried to crack open the firmware yet and see if there is more I can do with my terribly named Insta360 one X2. So with this set up for the moment I can capture about 16 megapixel images with about 21 stops of latitude. Clearly not the best in either case but it will get the job done. I shot this always useful for CG urban parking garage as I went to grab something quickly from my car on a recent trip to Chicago.

Let me know if you find these to be usable still or if the lack of resolution or latitude really makes these not very useful. I’ve found them usable but not totally ideal for lighting setups but they are just too small to use for background plates.
